The Laboratory for Advanced Visualization and Applications (LAVA) at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa is set for a major software upgrade, funded in part by a $5-million grant from the National Science Foundation.
The three-story building, situated at the eastern end of McCarthy Mall near Kennedy Theatre, features 21 state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratories, and will be able to serve more than 500 students daily when it opens for instruction this fall.
"The team used technology to streamline the intake process and the queuing of people and pets. Now, owners can see in real time exactly where their pet is in the process."
